The First Flight

An order again was placed with Hobby
King, the original motor was on backorder so I chose to order
the Turnigy AerodriveXp 90 SK Series 50-65 380Kv / 1820w Outrunner,
a motor with similar specs but a higher Kv rating.

This was fitted and test run, all is well at
last. A quick hook up to the
"Watts Up" meter and a check of the figures
showed not too much change from before.

Returning to the club field, several successful
flights were made and many have been had since, there are still
some minor problems that need to be ironed out, the plane seems
to lack punch below half throttle, it is my intension to try
some prop changes and I am also thinking of trying the new Turnigy
nano-tech batteries, the reports show that these give
stronger throttle punches and less voltage sag, in short better
power.
I am also unhappy with the choice of carbon undercarriage as you
can see in the photos the legs sweep back and they are quite
light weight, so I am on the hunt for something a little less flexible.

The only other change I have made to this model is updating to
2.4 Mhz from 40.650 as I was experiencing some small glitch
problems, these have been alleviated with this update.
